SETTLING DOWN IN DUNKIRK
I have now been in Dunkirk since February 2021 - with Wayne, Becca and Barbs helping in an enormous way with the move. Wayne and Becca spent another week with me sorting out all my computer, machine and tv connections. It was such a joy sharing this experience with them. Unpacking was another story - trying to find space for all my sewing stuff and fabric was quite a challenge but rather creative too. Getting motivated to design new projects has been much slower than I thought it would be but thankfully my sewing mojo is starting to revive.
My decision to go back to Ladysmith for a Sewing Retreat has been put on hold because of all the covid restrictions and also the cold weather. My projects are ready but a date has not been set yet. In the meantime I have made a few projects and need to uipload the pictures of these soon.
At the end of May it was great to have Becca staying with me for a few days during her UNI vac, my trip to Cape Town and then sadly Paul and Hayleys trip to spend some time in Dunkirk was put on hold as Paul contracted Covid. I am looking forward to welcoming Graeme and Bev as well as Paul and Hayley early in July.
Today is Father’s Day and the sadness of not having Robin with me here is overwhelming. The hardest is trying to motivate myself to doing creative stuff , that sometimes feels like a huge mountain to climb. Oh how I miss him. Hopefully this week will bring a new attitude.
